What the Course Entails and Exam Details

The ASCP PBT certification exam assesses your understanding across six critical domains. Your preparation must cover the entire lifespan of a specimen, from patient identification to final laboratory delivery. The largest portion of the exam, comprising nearly half of all questions, focuses on Specimen Collection (45–50%). This includes venipuncture techniques, skin puncture, order of draw, equipment selection, and management of complications. What to Expect in the Final Exam

The final ASCP PBT examination is a computer-based, multiple-choice test. It consists of exactly 80 questions, and you are given a total of two hours (120 minutes) to complete it.
