To calculate the average points scored by the girls, we first need to determine the total points scored by the boys and then find out how many points must be scored by the girls to reach the team's overall average. The boys' average score is 12 points each, and there are 8 boys on the team. Therefore, the total points scored by the boys can be calculated by multiplying the average points by the number of boys: Total points by boys = 12 points/boy * 8 boys = 96 points. The entire team scores an average of 136 points. To find the total points scored by the entire team, we can multiply the average team score by the total number of players on the roster (8 boys + 4 girls = 12 players): Total points by team = 136 points/team * 12 players = 1632 points. Now, we can determine how many points were scored by the girls by subtracting the boys' total from the team's total: Total points by girls = Total points by team - Total points by boys Total points by girls = 1632 points - 96 points = 1536 points. Now, to find out how many points each girl averaged, we take the total points
