Which statement is NOT required for digital imaging systems?
Correct Answer:
A safelight must be used in the digital imaging room.
Explanation:
In digital imaging, a safelight is not required because safelights are used to protect photographic film in darkroom processing from stray light fogging the emulsion. Digital systems don’t rely on photographic emulsion, plates, or chemical processing, so there’s no film to fog or degrade. What is required is that the manufacturer’s current operating manual be available for regulatory review, that the protocol for image quality established by the manufacturer is followed, and that records showing adherence to that protocol are kept for the required retention period. Keeping these documents ensures proper use, consistent image quality, and regulatory accountability.
