AAMI Funeral Home Management And Merchandising Practice Exam

Which item serves as a stand for the casket during viewing and services?

Body Bier Bridge Cap

Correct Answer:

Bier

Explanation:

In funeral service, the item that holds and displays the casket during viewing and services is a bier. A bier is a sturdy stand or frame designed to support the casket off the floor and at a proper viewing height, providing stable presentation and easy movement if needed. The body is not a stand, a bridge isn’t used as a casket display support, and a cap refers to the lid or top of the casket, not the support. So the bier is the correct term for the stand.
