Heartsaver AHA First Aid Training Practice Test

When a person complains of chest pain, the most critical and immediate action is to call 911 right away. Chest pain can be a symptom of serious medical conditions, including a heart attack, which requires prompt medical attention. Quick intervention can be life-saving, as emergency medical personnel are trained to handle such situations and can provide necessary care en route to the hospital. While other actions such as having the person lie down or checking their pulse may be relevant in a broader first aid scenario, they do not address the immediate need for professional medical intervention that chest pain indicates. Giving water is also inappropriate, as it may not be suitable for someone who might be experiencing a heart attack or other serious issues. Calling for help ensures that the individual receives the best treatment as soon as possible, making it the priority in this situation.
