Blanton's is primarily known for being a premium bourbon whiskey produced in the United States, specifically in Kentucky. Bourbon has distinct characteristics, such as being made from a grain mixture that is at least 51% corn, and it must be aged in new charred oak barrels. Blanton's is particularly notable as it was one of the first bourbons to be bottled as a single barrel, which means each bottle comes from an individual aging barrel, allowing for unique flavor profiles. The other options represent different types of whiskey that have unique production methods and legal requirements. Irish whiskey, for example, tends to be triple distilled and must be produced in Ireland. Scotch whisky, on the other hand, comes from Scotland and is typically made from malted barley. Canadian whisky varies in production but often has a lighter flavor profile and may include a wide variety of grains. Knowing that Blanton's is a bourbon helps to distinguish it from these other types of whiskey, each with its own heritage and characteristics.
