Loss Prevention Qualification (LPQ) Certification Practice Exam

The primary focus of the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA) is to prohibit employment discrimination based on age, specifically against individuals who are 40 years of age and older. The act aims to protect older employees from unfair treatment in the workplace that may arise solely because of their age, ensuring they have equal opportunities in hiring, promotions, job assignments, and other employment-related decisions. This focus is critical because it establishes a legal framework that prevents employers from making age a deciding factor in employment practices, promoting a fair work environment for older workers. By prohibiting discriminatory practices, the ADEA also helps to challenge stereotypes about older workers, highlighting their value and contributions in the workplace.
