A battery-powered wheelchair is classified differently than typical luggage or bags due to its function and design. Unlike items that are generally considered "heavy bags"—which are typically designed for clothing, personal items, or recreational use—the wheelchair serves a specific mobility function for individuals with disabilities. Consequently, it carries unique requirements and regulations concerning transport, often being categorized as a medical device or mobility aid rather than standard luggage. In contrast, the other items listed, such as backpacks, travel suitcases, and sports equipment, are generally viewed as traditional baggage. They may carry varying weights and sizes, but they are mainly designed for carrying personal possessions and thus fall under the "heavy bag" classification when they exceed specified weight limits. Understanding these distinctions helps clarify transportation and handling policies, especially in environments like airports where various classifications of items affect ticketing, loading, and safety procedures.
