In the age guidelines for USAPL categories, what are the minimum ages for Youth and Teen/Open, and is there a maximum age?
Correct Answer:
Youth minimum 8; Teen/Open minimum 14; there is no maximum age
Explanation:
The key idea is how USAPL defines who can compete in Youth versus Teen/Open based on age. Youth is for younger lifters and starts at a minimum age of eight. For Teen/Open, the minimum age is fourteen, allowing older teens and adults to compete in that category. There is no maximum age stated for these classifications, so athletes of any age who meet the minimum can participate in Teen/Open. In practice, there are separate Master divisions for older lifters, but within Youth and Teen/Open there isn’t an upper age limit. This aligns with the option describing a Youth minimum of eight, a Teen/Open minimum of fourteen, and no maximum age.
