Utah Financial Literacy State Practice Test

A scholarship is a form of financial assistance awarded to students based on various criteria, one of which is athletic ability. Many colleges and universities offer athletic scholarships to recruit talented athletes for their sports teams. These scholarships can cover tuition, fees, and sometimes other expenses like room and board, allowing students to focus on their education and athletic training without the burden of financial concerns. In contrast, grants typically do not require any specific criteria such as athletic ability and are often awarded based on financial need. Work-study programs provide part-time jobs for students to help cover educational expenses, which is not contingent upon a student's athletic skills. Loans are borrowed funds that need to be repaid with interest, which differs significantly from scholarships, as scholarships do not have to be repaid. Thus, the option of scholarship aligns perfectly with the context of financial assistance tied to athletic talent.
