Ginseng is often considered an impermissible substance for athletes due to its potential effects on performance and health, which may lead to a competitive advantage or safety concerns. While ginseng is a natural herbal supplement that some people use for its energy-boosting properties, its usage in sports is often scrutinized, particularly because it can interact with other medications and may produce unpredictable effects. On the other hand, protein powders, beta-alanine, and electrolyte drinks are widely accepted in athletic circles. Protein powders are commonly used to aid muscle recovery and enhance protein intake, beta-alanine is recognized for its benefits in improving athletic performance by buffering acid in muscles, and electrolyte drinks are essential for maintaining hydration and replenishing lost nutrients during intense workouts. These substances are generally seen as permissible and beneficial when used appropriately in the context of athletic training and performance.
