IIBEC Registered Roof Observers (RRO) Practice Test

A negative pressure test is characterized by using a sealed dome that creates a vacuum effect at the surface it covers. This is typically done to evaluate the integrity of a roofing system by identifying leaks. The dome is often square, with dimensions such as 5 feet by 5 feet, and it is sealed to prevent air from entering. This setup allows for the measurement of the difference in pressure once the vacuum is applied. In this context, a sealed dome effectively encloses the area being tested, and through the application of a vacuum, it demonstrates how well SAMPLEthe roofing system can withstand negative pressures, which is critical for assessing the quality of the installation. By sealing the dome at the roof surface, the test can ensure that any air leaks are adequately highlighted, thereby allowing for a clear indication of the roof's performance under negative pressure conditions.
