Software Asset Management Professional Practice Exam

The identification of increasing hardware capacity as not being a key objective of Software Asset Management is based on the primary focus of SAM. Software Asset Management centers around the effective management and optimization of software assets within an organization. Its main goals include reducing costs associated with software licensing, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements to avoid legal penalties, and enhancing overall software security by managing updates and patches effectively. Increasing hardware capacity may be a consideration in broader IT asset management initiatives, but it doesn't directly pertain to the software aspect that SAM is intended to address. SAM seeks to ensure that software assets are utilized efficiently, without necessarily involving the management or expansion of hardware resources. Therefore, this choice accurately reflects an area outside the core focus of Software Asset Management.
