The contract must be concluded in writing and submitted by the employer to the competent Apprenticeship Office (Lehrlingsstelle der Wirtschaftskammer) for registration within 3 weeks of the start of the apprenticeship. The contract can be concluded orally, provided written notification is sent to the Chamber of Labour (Arbeiterkammer) within 6 months. The contract must be notarized and submitted to the District Administrative Authority (Bezirkshauptmannschaft) within 5 working days. The contract must be registered exclusively with the Austrian Public Employment Service (AMS) prior to the first day of work.
