VTCT Level 2 Facial Massage And Skincare Practice Test

Infection control is the approach used to prevent the spread of infections in a salon by applying a wide range of practices and routines. It covers hygiene, cleaning and disinfection of surfaces, proper handling and sterilization of instruments, waste disposal, and the use of personal protective equipment, all designed to protect both clients and staff from transmission of disease. This broad, integrated focus is why it’s the best fit for the idea of preventing disease spread in a salon setting. Hygiene standards describe general cleanliness and personal hygiene practices, which are part of infection control but don’t alone capture the full system of measures used to stop transmission. Sterilization protocol refers to a specific method for destroying microbes on tools, an important component but narrower in scope than the overall infection-control framework. Public health surveillance is about monitoring disease patterns at the population level, not the day-to-day safeguards used within a salon.
