USN Backhoe Loader Practice Test

The correct answer highlights the importance of following the manufacturer's recommendations for maintenance schedules, including coolant replacement. Backhoe loaders, like any heavy machinery, have specific maintenance guidelines provided by the manufacturer to ensure optimal performance and longevity of the engine. These guidelines typically suggest replacing the coolant every couple of years, as coolant can degrade over time due to factors such as chemical breakdown and contamination, which can lead to cooling system failures and engine overheating. Replacing the coolant on a set schedule helps maintain the engine's cooling efficiency, prevents the formation of rust and scale, and aids in protecting engine components. While it's essential to monitor the coolant levels and its condition regularly, relying solely on a time frame instead of specific intervals can be more effective in maintaining the machine's performance and avoiding costly repairs. The other options suggest less suitable practices. For example, changing the coolant every month would be excessive and could lead to unnecessary costs and maintenance time, while waiting for the engine to overheat indicates a reactive rather than proactive approach to maintenance. Additionally, regular coolant checks before winter are important, but they do not replace the need for scheduled coolant replacement as specified by the manufacturer.
