Regular maintenance checks should be performed on a commercial vehicle as per the manufacturer's recommendations to ensure safety, reliability, and optimal performance. Manufacturers provide specific guidelines that outline maintenance schedules based on the vehicle's design and intended use. This could include regular checks on the engine, brakes, tires, and other critical systems to prevent breakdowns and ensure efficiency. Following these guidelines allows for timely identification of potential issues, which not only helps maintain compliance with safety regulations but also extends the lifespan of the vehicle. Unlike the options suggesting fixed time frames or only responding to visible issues, adherence to the manufacturer's recommendations ensures that checks are conducted at appropriate intervals, taking into account the wear and tear on the vehicle amidst various operating conditions. This proactive approach is essential for commercial vehicles that are typically subjected to heavier use compared to personal vehicles.
