ICEV Equine Science Certification Practice Test

Horses are commonly used in various recreational activities, and each of the options represents a different aspect of equine use. While trail riding, rodeos, and therapy are well-established and recognized as common recreational uses for horses, the use of horses in hunting is less prevalent compared to the other activities listed. Trail riding is a widely enjoyed pastime, providing riders with the opportunity to explore nature on horseback. Rodeos, although competitive, also serve a recreational function as spectators and participants engage in traditional cowboy skills. Horse therapy involves using horses in therapeutic settings to assist individuals with physical, emotional, or developmental challenges, highlighting the multifaceted roles horses play in recreational activities. In contrast, hunting with horses is not a typical recreation in the same broad context, as it often involves a more niche group of riders aligned with specific hunting traditions. Therefore, it does not fit as comfortably within the mainstream recreational uses for horses when compared to the other options.
