Teaching English To Speakers Of Other Languages (TESOL) Practice Test

A language portfolio is fundamentally a collection of a learner’s work that showcases their language development and competencies over time. It is designed to provide evidence of the learner’s abilities through various artifacts such as written assignments, recordings of spoken language, self-assessments, and reflections on learning experiences. This collection serves not only to demonstrate what the learner has achieved but also to encourage reflection on their progress and areas for improvement. The use of a language portfolio aligns with learner-centered approaches in language teaching, fostering greater autonomy and engagement in the learning process. By compiling different types of work, students can see their progress and gain a sense of ownership over their learning journey, making it a valuable tool in a TESOL context.
