AVN C3 Reserve Component (RC) Practice Test

Receiving the mission is the starting point because everything that follows hinges on a clear understanding of what you’re being asked to accomplish. When you receive the mission, you lock in the task, the commander’s intent, the time frame, any constraints or rules of engagement, and the assets available. This gives you a precise objective and the end state you must achieve, which guides all subsequent steps in planning and execution. With that understanding, you can issue a warning order, begin formulating a plan, initiate movement, and determine what reconnaissance is needed. If you skip this first step, planning can drift from the true purpose, misinterpret the intent, or overlook critical constraints, wasting time and risking the mission. So the initial action is to absorb and confirm the mission to set the foundation for effective Troop Leading Procedures.
