ITEC Manicure And Pedicure Practice Test

For a basic manicure, the tools typically used include nail clippers, files, buffers, cuticle pushers, and scissors. Each of these tools serves a specific purpose in the manicure process. Nail clippers are essential for trimming the nails to the desired length, while files are used to shape and smooth the edges of the nails. Buffers help to create a shiny finish on the nail surface, enhancing its appearance. Cuticle pushers are important for gently pushing back the cuticles to create a neat nail bed, ensuring that the application of nail polish is clean and professional. Scissors may be used to trim hangnails or excess cuticles, allowing for a polished look. In contrast, the other options suggest a limited or incorrect selection of tools. Relying only on nail polish and remover does not cover the necessary preparatory steps for a manicure. Electric drills and sanders are considered advanced tools and are not typically used in basic manicure procedures, as they may not be suitable for all clients, particularly in a standard salon setting. Finally, focusing solely on polishes and top coats fails to consider the essential steps of nail care and hygiene that must precede any cosmetic application.
