Louisiana Class D Chauffeur's License Practice Test

The appropriate action when seeing a school bus with its stop sign extended is to stop and not proceed until the sign is retracted. This rule is in place to ensure the safety of children who may be boarding or disembarking from the bus. The stop sign indicates that children are in the vicinity, and stopping allows for a clear and safe path for them. It is vital for drivers to adhere to this law to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of all road users, especially young children who may not be fully aware of their surroundings. In addition, not following this rule can lead to legal consequences, including fines and points on your driving record. Understanding the importance of these safety measures reinforces responsible driving behavior in school zones or areas with high pedestrian traffic.
