MCB Data Cloud Certification Practice Exam

B is essential when setting up data ingestion via SFTP because access credentials are fundamental to establishing a secure connection with the SFTP server. Without the correct username and password (or key-based authentication), data transfer will not occur, as the server will deny access. This step ensures that only authorized users can interact with the data, which is a critical security measure in any data ingestion process. While the other options may play important roles in the overall setup and security of the data transfer process, they do not directly influence the immediate ability to connect to the SFTP server. For example, confirming the SFTP server's version may be beneficial for compatibility and security reasons, but it is not crucial for establishing a connection. Similarly, although choosing a compatible file format is important for data processing post-ingestion, it is not a requirement for successfully connecting to and retrieving data from the SFTP server. Implementing encryption is also a best practice for enhancing security, but it assumes that the connection has already been established. Thus, providing the correct access credentials stands out as the essential condition for initial data ingestion via SFTP.
