The application administrator role in Azure IoT Central is specifically designed to grant comprehensive access to all API calls associated with the application. This role is crucial for managing the overall configuration, settings, and capabilities of an IoT Central application. An application administrator can perform tasks such as creating and managing devices, adjusting application settings, handling user permissions, and accessing the underlying API functionality necessary for application management. This makes it suitable for individuals who require full control over the application's resources and operations. In contrast, other roles, such as the application operator and application builder, have more limited privileges. The application operator focuses on monitoring and managing the operational aspects of the application without having the same level of administrative access. The application builder, while responsible for creating and configuring application elements, may not have access to all aspects of the API. Custom roles can be created with specific permissions but do not inherently provide access to all API calls unless explicitly defined. Overall, the application administrator role is vital for performing a wide range of administrative tasks that require extensive access, which is why it is the best answer to the question regarding access to all API calls in IoT Central.
