Motorcycle Safety Practice Test

Using headlights, even during the day, significantly enhances your visibility while riding. This practice, known as "daytime running lights," helps ensure that you are seen by other motorists and pedestrians, particularly in conditions where visibility might be compromised, such as in overcast weather or against bright backgrounds. Research has shown that motorcycles equipped with headlights on during daylight hours are less likely to be involved in collisions, as they attract the attention of other road users. In contrast, wearing dark clothing can make you less visible, especially in low-light conditions or from a distance. Switching off your headlights during daylight creates an even greater risk of being overlooked by other drivers. While reflective gear is important, relying solely on it without utilizing lights may not provide the same level of visibility, particularly in varied lighting conditions. Overall, keeping your headlights on enhances your presence on the road, contributing to safer riding experiences.
