Ohio Drivers Ed Practice Exam Guide

If your traffic light changes to yellow before reaching the crosswalk, you should

Make every reasonable effort to stop Accelerate to clear the intersection Signal for a right turn and slow Continue at the same pace

Correct Answer:

Make every reasonable effort to stop

Explanation:

If a traffic light changes to yellow before reaching the crosswalk, it means the light is about to turn red. In this scenario, the most responsible and safest option would be to make every reasonable effort to stop at the crosswalk. Choosing to accelerate to clear the intersection or continue at the same pace can result in running a red light and potentially causing a dangerous situation. Signaling for a right turn and slowing down may also not be appropriate if you are not actually planning to turn right. Therefore, making every effort to stop is the best course of action in this situation.
