JJ Keller Entry Level Driver Training For CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) Practice Test

When encountering a vehicle driving with high beams directly towards you, looking at the centerline of the road is a critical action to take. This method helps to prevent temporary blindness caused by the intense light from the high beams. By focusing on the centerline, you maintain awareness of your lane and can better judge your position on the road. This reduces the risk of veering off course or colliding with the oncoming vehicle. Maintaining situational awareness is vital in preventing accidents. While other actions might seem like viable options, they may not provide the same level of safety or maintain control of the vehicle. Looking at the centerline allows you to keep both your focus on driving safely and your vehicle within the lane, significantly enhancing your safety during the encounter.
