What acronym is used to remember the safety check before backing?

LOOK BACK GOAL SAFE

Correct Answer:

GOAL

Explanation:

The acronym used to remember the safety check before backing is commonly "LOOK." This reflects the importance of being aware of your surroundings before performing any backing maneuver, which is crucial for preventing accidents. The "LOOK" approach emphasizes checking mirrors, looking over your shoulders, and being vigilant for pedestrians or obstacles that might not be visible from your vehicle's mirrors alone. Using "LOOK" as a reminder reinforces the requirement for drivers to take a moment to thoroughly assess their environment prior to maneuvering in reverse, thus promoting overall safety while driving. This approach is widely taught in driver training programs and is vital for developing good driving habits.
