Registered Insurance Brokers Of Ontario (RIBO) Level 2 Practice Exam

The coverage that specifically protects tools and equipment while they are being moved between job sites is known as a Tool Floater. This type of insurance is designed to cover tools and equipment used in various trades for loss or damage while being transported. In more detail, a Tool Floater provides coverage for mobile property, which is essential in the construction and contracting industries. It ensures that if tools are damaged or lost in transit—such as during transportation to a new job site—these items are insured. This type of policy is particularly valuable for contractors who frequently move equipment and tools, as it offers peace of mind and financial security. It’s important to note that other types of coverage mentioned in the options focus on specific scenarios. For instance, the Transit form usually provides coverage for property being shipped but may not always include the broader range of protections offered by a Tool Floater. Builders Risk Insurance is typically aimed at covering structures under construction, and an Installation Floater caters to items being installed, rather than those simply being transported. Thus, in this context, the Tool Floater is the most appropriate coverage for tools and equipment in transit between job sites.
