Career Enlisted Aviator (CEA) Fundamentals Block 4 Practice Test

CPR is a basic aircrew survival skill because it provides immediate life support in emergencies where a person is unresponsive and not breathing. In survival situations, especially after a crash or when medical help may be delayed, keeping blood circulating and delivering oxygen to vital organs buys precious time until advanced care can arrive. CPR is portable, requires minimal equipment, and is a foundational first-aid skill taught in survival training, making it highly practical for aircrews. The other options don’t fit as basic survival skills in this context: fire fighting is a specialized response to aircraft fires that goes beyond the typical survival toolkit; oxygen management is essential for flight operations but not a survival technique used after an emergency on the ground or in the field; cloud navigation isn’t relevant to immediate life-saving actions.
