AWS Services Practice Test

The selection of AWS GovCloud (US) as the region specifically designed for compliance with ITAR regulations is correct due to its unique features and capabilities tailored for U.S. government agencies and organizations dealing with controlled unclassified information. ITAR, which stands for the International Traffic in Arms Regulations, governs the export and import of defense-related articles and services on the United States Munitions List. AWS GovCloud (US) meets stringent security and compliance requirements necessary for handling sensitive data related to national defense and aerospace, including full adherence to ITAR. This region is isolated from other AWS regions and offers enhanced security measures, including physical security, network isolation, and compliance with federal standards, making it suitable for organizations that need to ensure their data handling practices comply with U.S. export control laws. In contrast, the other regions mentioned, such as AWS Europe, AWS Asia Pacific, and AWS South America, do not have the specific infrastructure or certifications required for ITAR compliance, limiting their suitability for hosting sensitive defense-related data or applications.
